The durability of drive systems in trucks and delivery vehicles increasingly depends on the quality of the lubricants used. Modern engines, gearboxes, and axles operate under greater loads than before. In automatic transmissions, the oil temperature usually reaches 80-90°C, and in more demanding conditions, it can be even higher, requiring excellent thermal resistance. An even more demanding environment exists in turbochargers – where temperatures around the bearings are extreme, thus oil film stability and oxidation resistance are crucial.

Mobil experts emphasize that effective drive protection is only possible when all its components – engine, gearbox, drive axle, bearings or joints – are appropriately matched in terms of lubrication. For this reason, Mobil has developed a complete range of products covering every lubrication point of the vehicle. These solutions are based on a century of experience, referring to the history of the Mobil Delvac brand, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2025.

Engine – the key to durability

The Mobil Delvac Ultra 5W-30 Ultimate Protection V2 oil was created with demanding and modern power units in mind. It features excellent oxidative stability and protects the turbocharger from deposit formation – confirmed by engine tests and manufacturer approvals. UTAC road tests also showed that this oil can reduce fuel consumption by up to 1.8% compared to conventional oils*.

For older engines or vehicles operating in harsh conditions, a good choice is Mobil Delvac Modern 10W-40 Advanced Protection. It ensures a stable oil film at high temperatures and reliable protection throughout the interval between changes.

Transmissions and axles – resistance to extreme loads

Torque from the engine goes to the gearbox and axle, which operate under tremendous forces and in high temperatures. Here, oil resistance to shearing and maintaining the right viscosity are key. Mobilube 1 SHC 75W-90 – a fully synthetic gear oil – provides exceptional gear protection against micropitting and reduces friction, which improves work smoothness and extends the durability of mechanisms.

In vehicles and machines where the transmission system cooperates with hydraulics (e.g., agricultural or construction machines), the optimal solution is Mobil Delvac Ultra UTTO – a hydraulic-transmission oil that meets the requirements of both systems and ensures smooth, consistent operation.

Bearings, joints, saddles – where oil does not reach

Elements such as bearings, joints, or hinges require greases resistant to washing out and harsh conditions. In these applications, Mobilith SHC and Mobilgrease XHP products are excellent.

Mobilith SHC 220 retains its properties from -40°C up to more than 150°C, making it ideal for working in extreme temperatures.

Mobilgrease XHP 220, a lithium grease with high adhesion, extends the time between regreasing and reduces the wear of chassis components.

The right grease not only reduces wear but also minimizes service downtime and lowers fuel costs by reducing friction.

Automatic and hydraulic systems

In automatic transmissions, viscosity stability and oil degradation resistance are necessary. Mobil ATF 320 maintains its parameters even under prolonged work at high temperatures, resulting in smooth gear changes and reliable system operation.

For older constructions, Mobil ATF 220 is recommended, compliant with the Dexron IID specification, also used as a hydraulic fluid.

Selecting oil – simpler than you think

Although the multitude of specifications may seem complicated, proper tools and technical consultation facilitate the selection of the appropriate lubricant. Mobil provides an online tool that allows you to quickly find the right product for a particular vehicle or machine.

In the selection process, it is worth remembering three steps:

• Matching the oil to OEM specifications.
• Considering the operating conditions of the vehicle – temperatures, loads, nature of work.
