Situation

Südzucker Polska (a member of the Südzucker group, the largest sugar producer in Europe) operated two MWM engines and changed the previous oil every 800 hours. This caused frequent downtimes and affected plant efficiency. The corporation approached our company to develop a more efficient solution regarding oil selection, capable of reducing its consumption, extending intervals between changes, and lowering costs.

Recommendations

After conducting performance tests, ExxonMobil and MOBIPOL engineers recommended switching to Mobil Pegasus™ 605 Ultra 40, a gas engine oil developed with high-quality base oils and advanced technologically additives, to ensure the highest level of protection in the most demanding applications. It was also recommended to implement routine MobilServ oil analyses and borescope inspections to monitor engine condition.

Benefits

The use of Mobil Pegasus™ 605 Ultra 40 gas engine oil extended the oil drain interval (ODI) by over 75% compared to the previous product. After 1400 hours of operation, MobilServ oil analysis showed that the product was still suitable for use. Extended replacement periods and reduced oil consumption resulted in annual savings of 4600 USD per engine.

Situation

The Water and Sewerage Company in Legnica (Poland) operated two MAN E2876 LE302 engines, changing the oil every 450 hours. This replacement schedule caused frequent downtimes and negatively affected the plant’s efficiency. The company approached us to develop a more effective oil selection solution that would reduce its consumption, extend intervals between changes, and lower operating costs.

Recommendations

After conducting performance tests, engineers from ExxonMobil and MOBIPOL also recommended switching to Mobil Pegasus™ 605 Ultra 40, a high-quality gas engine oil created from the best base oils and advanced technological additives, to ensure maximum protection in the most demanding conditions.
