The durability of drive systems in heavy-duty and delivery vehicles increasingly depends on the quality of lubricants used. Modern engines, gearboxes, and axles operate under greater loads than in the past. In automatic transmissions, oil temperature usually reaches 80–90°C, and in harsher conditions, it can be even higher, requiring excellent thermal resistance. Even more demanding conditions occur in turbochargers, where temperatures near the bearings are extreme, making the stability of the oil film and oxidation resistance crucial.

Mobil experts emphasize that effective drive protection is only possible when all its components – engine, gearbox, drive axle, bearings, or joints – are properly matched in terms of lubrication. For this reason, Mobil has developed a complete range of products covering every lubrication point of the vehicle. These solutions are based on a century of experience, referring to the history of the Mobil Delvac brand, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2025.

Engine – Key to Durability

The Mobil Delvac Ultra 5W-30 Ultimate Protection V2 oil was created with demanding and modern engines in mind. It features excellent oxidative stability and protects the turbocharger against deposit formation – confirmed by engine tests and manufacturer approvals. UTAC road tests also showed that this oil can reduce fuel consumption by up to 1.8% compared to conventional oils*.

For older engines or vehicles operating under harsh conditions, Mobil Delvac Modern 10W-40 Advanced Protection is a good choice. It provides a stable oil film at high temperatures and reliable protection throughout the entire period between changes.

Transmissions and Axles – Resistance to Extreme Loads

Torque from the engine reaches the gearbox and axles, which operate under enormous forces and high temperatures. Here, the oil’s resistance to shearing and maintaining the appropriate viscosity are crucial. Mobilube 1 SHC 75W-90 – a fully synthetic transmission oil – provides exceptional protection against micropitting and reduces friction, enhancing operational smoothness and extending the durability of mechanisms.

In vehicles and machines where the transmission system works with hydraulics (e.g., agricultural, construction machines), the optimal solution is Mobil Delvac Ultra UTTO – a hydraulic-transmission oil meeting the requirements of both systems, ensuring smooth, even operation.

Bearings, Joints, Saddles – Where Oil Doesn’t Reach

Components such as bearings, joints, or hinges require greases resistant to washing out and harsh conditions. Mobilith SHC and Mobilgrease XHP products are excellent for these applications.

Mobilith SHC 220 retains its properties from -40°C to over 150°C, making it ideal for working in extreme temperatures.

Mobilgrease XHP 220, a highly adhesive lithium grease, extends the time between regreasing and reduces wear on chassis components.

The right grease not only reduces wear but also decreases service downtimes and fuel costs due to reduced friction.

Automatic and Hydraulic Systems

In automatic transmissions, viscosity stability and oil degradation resistance are essential. Mobil ATF 320 maintains its parameters even during prolonged operation at high temperatures, ensuring smooth gear changes and reliable system performance.

For older designs, Mobil ATF 220 is recommended, compliant with the Dexron IID specification, also used as a hydraulic fluid.

Oil Selection – Simpler Than It Seems
